Granting yourself grace on Trim Healthy Mama is an important way to avoid burnout and keep pushing toward your goals.
Grace. I have a special fondness for the word. I even gave it as a middle name to my daughter. It is a beautiful name and word with a meaning that we all need to remember from time to time.
I particularly like following a diet lifestyle that focuses on grace. Life happens. You have work, kids, school, housework and more that can pull you away from your goals from time to time. And since we tend to be our own worst critic, having a little grace at the end of the day is nice to fall back on.
Grace on Trim Healthy Mama is something that the sisters preach and you are worthy of some grace on plan.

Grace on Trim Healthy Mama
According to Webster, grace is an unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification.
Trim Healthy Mama wants you to give yourself grace when you fall off course. When life gets in the way, when you had to work late and didn’t want to cook and ended up eating something off plan at the drive thru. Or when you were at a wedding and allowed yourself to celebrate the joyous occasion with a piece of cake.
Or your sweet husband tried to make you something THM and made it with off plan stuff and you eat it it anyway because well that is the best husband ever.
Maybe you were trying to be on plan, you post your meal on a THM forum for review and find out you used off plan ingredients by mistake.
Whatever the reason, you are encouraged to give yourself grace. To hop up, brush yourself off and start again in 3 hours.
3 Hour Grace Period
If you are not sure about why they say “start again in 3 hours,” it is because it is suggested that you eat every three hours. While eating every three hours is one of the 5 THM things that I sometimes skip, I do like it in the grace period.
Thinking about going off plan for one meal and then getting back on plan in just a mere 3 hours helps to keep me in check. Sometimes I plan to go off plan for a special outing or date night and sometimes it just happens for one reason or another.
But being able to hop back on plan in just 3 hours helps me to prevent whole “cheat” days. Or let’s be honest, cheat weekends.
Has that ever happened to you? One meal turns into two and before you know it, it has been days and you are still eating poorly? Asking for a friend! But seriously, I think we have all been there. I can’t count the times that I used to say prior to THM, “Okay, I am going to start on Monday.” Why put it off when you can restart now?
Grace On THM from Groups
The women on the Trim Healthy Mama Facebook groups, Instagram feeds and other social media groups are nothing short of amazing. There is always a group that is willing to help.
And you know what? They will remind you to give yourself grace on Trim Healthy Mama! It is ok if you mess up. This isn’t a magic potion. A meal or two with a flop isn’t going to cause a major weight gain.
Just hop right back on plan and you will be on your way to weight loss goals and a healthier life.
Be sure to follow my daily Instagram THM food diary to see what I eat for food ideas! (It is the real deal so give me some grace too! I will probably need it from time to time.)
